A typical Montana weather scenario:  “Today’s temperatures may reach a low of 40 degrees Fahrenheit and a high of 90 degrees in the afternoon; the day is expected to be sunny with a 50% chance of rain and snow showers.”

The weather in Montana can change at a moment’s notice, and while the day temperatures in the summer vary from those during the spring and fall, the nights generally tend to be cool regardless of the season.

Spring: While we are frequently blessed with beautiful sunny spring days and bountiful colors of mountain wild flowers, this time of the year could also bring a return to cooler temperatures.

Summer: The summer months are most predictable, with temperatures that can jump into the 90s during the months of July and August.  But thanks to the low humidity, even higher temperatures are easily endured.

Fall: The fall weather tends to bring similar days as in spring, and while the temperatures may jump into the 70s during the day, one should also be prepared for those cool, but colorful, crisp days with lower temperatures and an occasional rain or snow shower.
